Verify your identity
A cleaner or contractor decides whether to take your job without ever meeting you, and they are agreeing to turn up at an address you gave them. Verifying is how they know the work comes from a real business.The pros you invite are agreeing to come to a stranger's home. Verifying tells them you are a real person, the same way their badge tells you the same about them.
What actually happens
You photograph an ID and take a selfie. Stripe checks they match and tells us yes or no. We never see or store the document. It takes a couple of minutes, and you only do it once.
